The island is big, but you can go everywhere easily with public transportation, the bus station is near to the port and they have very clear schedules, the buses leave on time and you can pay by card for the tickets. Parikia is a good place to begin your travels of Paros. it is a convenient location to base yourself in as there is a bus terminal that allows you to take a short ride to Naoussa and surrounding areas. Overall, we preffered the small village of Aliki for a longer stay, as it was quiter and had a more relaxing vibe. The beaches in Parikia were not overly special, and I would not advise staying here if you desire luxury scenery. If you wish to visit the nicer beaches, definitely hire an ATV. Parikia used to be the black sheep of the family concerning Paros villages. Eveyone told me that Naoussa is the best place to be. I beg to differ. Paros has come under a big progress restaurant wise and is one of the few greek islands where you can have so many options in dining, especially italian. The only thing missing from Parikia is a bar or club where people can dance all night. It's the puzzle piece that will complete the upgrade.

You wont find a decent restaurant even tho there are numerous ones to choose from .......... I have been to numerous locations in Greece and so i can speak from experience. The room was everything that we hoped for. The third floor veranda gave us the best view of the island. The location was ideal as it was a short walk to port and many bars and restaurants in town. We would highly recommend Kontaratos to anyone visiting Paros.

The hotel is super close to Marcello beach and also to the port of Paros. Its location allows travel of a maximum of 30 minutes by car to the most important tourist attractions such as Naoussa and Lefkes. Konstantinos met me from the ferry and took me to the hotel chatting on the way about the town etc. We sat on the colourful roof terrace and over a cup of tea he gave me a map and wrote down places to visit for my time in Paros. Nothing was too much trouble. Every morning refreshments were offered. Oydsseus (Konstantinos dog) was so friendly and enjoyed interacting with the guests. He gave me information about things to see in Paros, places to eat, clinic locations. He also called and set up my horse riding excursion, and also helped me with the ferry reservations. Even after I left Paros, he gave me his card so I can contact him if I had some issue. Meanwhile, I stayed in two rooms and was satisfied with the 2nd room especially.
